Installation Preparation:
All parts should be removed from their packaging and inspected for completeness and transport damage prior
to installation.
Before installing the new mixer
it is essential that you thoroughly flush through the supply pipes
in order
to remove any remaining solder, swarf or impurities from your system. Failure to carry out this simple
procedure could cause problems or damage to the workings of the mixertap and invalidate the warranty.
We recommend installing isolation valves and particle (mesh) filters to both the hot and cold feed pipes in an
accessible position. This will help to prevent premature failure of the valves and ease any future maintenance.
Shut off the water heating system and ensure that the mains stopcock is closed. Ensure both the hot and cold
water supplies are isolated before commencing installation.
This mixertap requires a
∅
35mm tap hole, if replacing an existing tap, remove the tap & clean the end of the
feed pipes using wire wool, the tap hole area should be free from dirt and sealant. You should ensure that the
product will both fit into the depth of the mounting surface available and reach the required outlet positions
before installation.
Loosely position the tap and tail pipes to check if any alteration to the existing pipework is required, if this is
the case do this now.
This tap can be used in conjunction with a water softening system and will remove the need for a separate
drinking water tap. In this instance the isolator valve (U) must cut into the unsoftened cold mains supply so the
filtered drinking water is not pre-softened.
Stage 1 – install the tap:
1. Screw the hot and cold tail pipes (I & H) and fixing stud (G) into the base of the tap (A).
2. Place the upper seal (C) on to the base of base plinth (B).
3. Place the tap (A) centrally and straight to the tap hole, passing the hollow fixing stud (G) and tail pipes
(I & H) through the sink.
4. Pass the rubber horseshoe (E) then the metal horseshoe (F) over the hollow fixing stud (G). Note: if
the tap is to be fitted to a stainless steel sink then the white triangular plate (D) can be fitted where
shown to improve the stability of the tap.
5. Using a spanner tighten fixing nut (J) onto the hollow fixing stud (G), a 17mm a/f box spanner or
adjustable small basin wrench will help if one is available.
6. Place the fibre washer (K) into adaptor (L), then tighten the adaptor (L) onto the end of the hollow fixing
stud (G).
7. Attach the hot water tail pipe (I) to the water feed pipe using 15mm compression or end feed joints.
Note: the tail pipes can be carefully ‘dogleg bent’ apart to give more space to allow these fittings to be
attached.
8. Using compression nuts (T) and olives (U) connect the 3-way tee (V) as shown to the cold water tail
pipe (H).
Stage 2 – install the filter:
1. Locate a convenient position to install the filter (P), remembering that it must be easily accessible when
it is changed, remove the blue domed dust plugs (not shown) from both ends of the filter, to remove the
blue plugs push the circular collar towards the filter whilst pulling the plugs.
2. Using compression nuts (T) and olives (U) connect the 3-way tee (V) as shown to the cold water supply
feed pipe.
3. Screw the filter bracket (R) to the sink cupboard wall using screws (Q), if attaching the bracket to an
interior wall use a rawl plug.
4. Write the installation date onto the filter label in permanent pen.
5. Clip the filter (P) into its bracket (R) respecting the flow direction, the flow direction is marked on the
filter body (P) with an arrow. The filter (P) should be mounted vertically or near vertically to perform
correctly.
6. Screw the tapered pushfit connector (M) into the adaptor nut (L). Note we suggest using PTFE tape on
the tapered thread of fitting (M), do not over tighten fitting (M) it will not be flush to adaptor (L) when in
a sealed position.
7. Cut the blue flexible pipe (N) so it is slightly longer than the required lengths to and from the filter unit
(P). When cutting the pipe use a sharp Stanley knife, ensuring that the pipe is cut cleanly and square at
all ends.
8. Firmly push the blue pipe (N) apx. 12mm into the filter outlet pushfit connector (O) and pushfit
connector (S).
9. Firmly push the blue pipe (N) into filter inlet pushfit connector (O) and the valve pushfit adaptor (M).
