"Attenuation"
Enter the attenuation of the voltage divider according to the selected
scale. The conversion from linear to logarithmic values depends on
the "Vertical unit" of the probe:
For voltage-based unit (V and A):
attenuation (dB) = 20 * log
10
(attenuation factor)
For power-based unit (W):
attenuation (dB) = 10 * log
10
(attenuation factor)
Remote command:
Impedance
Sets the impedance of the channel for power calculations and measurements.
Remote command:
Coupled to C1 / C2 / C3 / C4
Channel coupling sets the vertical settings of the coupled channels to the values of the
active channel. If you want to have the same vertical settings for two or more channels,
you can set them at once by coupling these channels.
Channel coupling affects all vertical settings that are adjusted in the "Settings" tab: ver-
tical scale, position, offset, coupling, and ground.
Remote command:
Filter characteristics
Selects the type of filter that is used. In the acquisition system, you can define the roll-
off of the frequency response of the instrument.
Note:
This setting does not apply to oscilloscopes with 4 GHz bandwidth.
"Brick wall"
Ensures a maximally flat frequency response up to the instrument
bandwidth. Also a maximally sharp rolloff above the instrument band-
width to minimize the noise level.
"Gaussian"
Ensures minimum overshoots in the recorded waveforms. Also a
more flat rolloff above the instrument bandwidth with a slightly higher
noise level than the Brick wall characteristic.

Digital filter setup
Access: "Menu" > "Vertical" > "Bandwidth" tab > "Digital Filter"
After processing by the A/D converter, the channel and trigger signals are digitized sig-
nals. These digitized signals can be filtered to reject high frequency - also known as
Digital Signal Processing (DSP). You can filter the acquisition channels and the trigger
channel signal.
