Power Control Bits
Defines which type of Power Control Bits (PCB) are transmitted to the MS. The PCB
controls the mobile station total output power.
Depending on the PCB, the MS increases or reduces its output power. The power con-
trol bits are transported via the F-FCH.
The PCB must be compatible with the measurement task. All PCB modes except
Auto
can drive the MS transmitter outside the power range necessary for a particular mea-
surement.
●
Auto
: Active closed loop power control: the R&S
CMW sends the PCB needed to
control the MS transmitter output power to the expected value.
●
All Up
: Sends only
0
as power control bits.
●
All Down
: Sends only
1
as power control bits.
●
Hold
: Sends alternating
0
/
1
power control bits to keep the current power level of
the MS constant.
●
Range Test
: The R&S
CMW sends a sequence of 128 up power bits (= 8 frames)
followed by a sequence of 128 down power bits.
●
Pattern
: Sends the user specific segment bits executed by the command
.
Remote command:
Step Size
Sets the power step size that the MS is to use for power control. The step size is the
nominal change of the MS transmit power per single power control bit.
Option R&S CMW-KS810 is required.
