Manual Expected Power
Expected absolute input power at the R&S
CMW input connector for "Expected Power
Mode: Manual". Input powers above the "Manual Expected Power" overdrive the input
path and cause invalid results.
Remote command:
Expected Nominal Power
Displays the expected nominal power that the MS has to transmit. The value depends
on to the selected "Expected Power Mode" and the total CDMA output power. The
value is displayed for information.
Remote command:
AWGN Mode
Operating mode of the AWGN generator. The "AWGN Level" (see
) range
is adjusted to the selected mode. The AWGN generator provides an Additional Gaus-
sian White Noise signal which is superimposed to the forward CDMA2000 signal. The
AWGN contribution represents a controlled impairment of the forward signal.
●
Normal
: This mode is appropriate for low and medium AWGN levels.
●
High Power
: This mode is appropriate for high AWGN levels. It requires option
R&S CMW-KS810.
Remote command:
AWGN Level
Power of the AWGN signal relative to the "CDMA Power". Use the checkbox to turn the
AWGN generator on or off.
The total output power of the R&S
CMW is the sum of the Forward CDMA signal plus
the AWGN signal. The R&S
CMW automatically limits the AWGN signal level so that
the maximum possible total output power of the R&S
CMW RF connector is not excee-
ded.
The range of values is sufficient for all tests specified in the conformance test specifi-
cation 3GPP2 C.S0043. An AWGN signal source simulates realistic propagation condi-
tions of the Forward signal. It is needed for many of the signaling conformance tests.

Physical Layer
This section defines characteristics related to the forward channels and defines the pri-
mary connection service option.
