FINAL DRIVE MAINTENANCE
CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
1.
Primary Chain Adjustment
– 4WD
(Wheel) Models 800 & 950
The
primary
chains
connect
the
hydraulic motors to the rear axles.
Slight hand pressure at mid-span on
these chains should detect little or no
flex.
To properly set chain tension, it is
recommended the unit be placed on
stands and the wheels removed for easier
access to the adjusting screws.
a)
Loosen the 4 axle bolts slightly
on both front and rear axles.

Loosen the axle adjusting screw
on the front axle.
c)
Slide the rear axle backwards to
tighten the Primary Chain by
tightening the adjusting nut until
the chain becomes snug.
d)
Once the desired chain tension is
reached, tighten the 4 axle bolts
securely and lock the adjusting
screw in place to secure by
tightening the two nuts against
each other.
2.
Secondary Chain Adjustment
–
4WD (Wheel) Models 800 & 950
The secondary chains connect the front
and rear axles together. The primary
chain
MUST
be
adjusted
before
adjusting these chains.
a)
Remove front chain covers to
view secondary chains
b)
Loosen the 4 axle bolts on the
front axle
c)
Slide the front axle forward to
tighten the secondary chain until
the chain becomes snug
d)
Once the desired chain tension is
reached, tighten the 4 axle bolts
securely and lock the axle
adjusting screw in place to secure
by tightening the two nuts
against each other.
