1.6.6. When operating the sander do not apply excessive pressure that might stop the tool.
2.
Construction and use.
Orbital sanders are hand-operated power tools with insulation class II. Tools are driven by single-
phase commutator motors. Orbital sander is designed for sanding and polishing surfaces of wood,
metal, plastic and similar materials, with the use of sanding paper with appropriate gradation. Range
of use covers repair and building works, and any work from the range of individual, amateur activities
(tinkering).
Do not use the sander for sanding surfaces that contain magnesium or asbestos, or covered with
gypsum.
Noise level and vibration parameters:
Sound pressure Lp

= 92 dB(A)
Sound power Lw

Uncertainty K = 3 dB.
Weighted value of vibration acceleration a

3.
Preparation for operation.
3.1. Choosing sanding paper.
Coarse-grained sanding paper is used for coarse processing of most materials, while fine-grained
paper is used for finishing works.
When the surface is not flat, start the work with coarse-grained sanding paper and continues until
the surface is flat.
Next use middle-grained paper to remove traces of coarse processing.
To finish the work use fine-grained sanding paper.
3.2. Installing sanding paper.
Orbital sander is equipped with pad with so called VELCRO (hook-and-loop) and only perforated
sanding paper of appropriate diameter size 125 mm should be used.
3.3. Put the sanding paper close to the sander backing pad.
Place the paper so its holes match holes on the sander backing pad.
Press the sanding paper against the backing pad.
Ensure that the holes on the sanding paper and backing pad fully match; it ensures possibility of
dust extraction.
3.4. Dust extraction.
Equipment of orbital sander includes dust container that helps to maintain the processed surface
clean.
When the container is full, remove and empty it by opening its lower lid.
Use water with soap to wash the filter. Dry thoroughly. Do not use cleaning agents or detergents.
Assemble the dust container and reinstall it on the dust outlet.
Ensure the dust container is well fixed on the dust outlet by pulling it gently.
It is recommended to empty the container when it is half-full.
4.
Operation and settings.
4.1. Switching On / Switching Off.
The mains voltage must match the voltage on the rating plate of the sander.
Short operation: Press the switch button (1) and hold.
Continuous operation: Press the switch button (1) and lock it by pressing the switch lock button (2).
Switching off: Press and release the switch button (1).
4.2. Wheel for spindle rotational speed control.
Orbital sander allows for operation with different spindle speeds. It can be controlled with the wheel
for speed control (3).
Turn the wheel for speed control (3) clockwise to increase the speed.
Turn the wheel for speed control (3) counter-clockwise to reduce the speed.
Choose proper rotational speed when the orbital sander operates with no load, and with switch lock
button pressed. Defined speed may decrease under load.
4.3. Orbital sander operation.
Whole area of backing pad must rest on the processed surface.
