Chapter 5: Dismantling
ChipDisk Board
ChipDisk board
Follow these steps to remove the ChipDisk (hard drive) board as shown in
Figure 5-28.
NOTE:
When replacing the ChipDisk, all data files will be lost. As appropriate,
follow instructions in the Operator’s Manual for downloading data files prior to
replacing the electronics module or Chip Disk.

When replacing the Chip Disk, the analyzer serial number will be lost. To
reprogram the serial number, refer to Chapter 4, Resetting the Serial Number.
Step Action
1.
Remove the electronics module.
2.
Remove the analog board.
3.
Remove the interface board.
4.
Disconnect the COM cable from the front of the CPU board by
pulling straight out.
5.
Gently lift the ChipDisk board up to release it from the pins at the
back of the CPU board and remove it.
