ADJUSTING THE 
HANDSET VOLUME

To adjust the volume you hear through
the handset during a call, press  to in-
crease or   to decrease the volume.

Note: When you press  while the vol-
ume is maximum or   while the volume
is low, the setting does not change.

SELECTING THE 
CHANNEL

The phone scans 30 channels (frequen-
cy pairs used between the base and the
handset) and automatically selects a
clear channel each time you make or re-
ceive a call. If you hear other conversa-
tions or excessive noise during a call,
press 

DEL/CH

 to select a different chan-

nel. The display shows

Note: If the handset is too far from the
base, the channel might not change.
Move closer to the base and try again.

USING MUTE

To talk to someone in the room while us-
ing the speakerphone without the per-
son on the other end of the phone line
hearing your conversation, press 

MUTE

.

The SPKR/MUTE indicator flashes.

Press 

MUTE

 again to resume your

phone conversation.

SWITCHING BETWEEN 
THE HANDSET AND 
SPEAKERPHONE

To switch to the speakerphone while
you are using the handset, press

SPEAKER

 on the base. When you hear

the conversation on the speakerphone,
press 

TALK

 on the handset.

To switch to the handset while you are
using the speakerphone, lift the handset
off the base. If the handset is away from
the base, press 

TALK

, then press

SPEAKER

.

USING BOTH THE 
HANDSET AND 
SPEAKERPHONE

If someone else is using the speaker-
phone, press 

TALK

 on the handset to

join the conversation. If someone else is
using the handset, press 

SPEAKER

 on

the base to join the conversation.
