CHANGING KEYS
The MD-1600 automatically selects the
key of middle C each time you turn it on.
For added flexibility as you play, the
MD-1600 lets you change (transpose)
the musical key.
Follow these steps to change keys.
1. Repeatedly press
TRANSPOSE/
TUNE/MIDI

on the display.
Note: The number on the display is
the number of semitones to which
the keyboard is set, compared to its
default key. You can transpose the
key up or down 12 semitones (one
octave).
2. Within 5 seconds, press
+
or
–
to
raise or lower the key. Each time
you press the key, the number on
the display increases or decreases
by 1 (semitone).
Notes:
• The MD-1600 automatically resets
the key to the default value of 0
(middle C) each time you turn off the
keyboard.
• The transpose setting also affects
memory playback (see “Playing
Back from Memory” on Page 34)
and auto accompaniment.
