LIGHTNING
Lightning damage is not common, but it can occur in electronic
devices. A lightning strike near, or directly to, the power line
may cause an excessive surge of voltage that can damage the
alert. If you live in an area that has frequent or severe electrical
storms, we suggest that you purchase a surge protector to help
prevent damage to your alert as a result of power line surges.
Your local RadioShack store has a wide selection of surge pro-
tectors.
