LISTENING SAFELY
To protect your hearing, follow these guide-
lines.
• Set the volume to the lowest setting
before you begin listening. After you
begin listening, adjust the volume to a
comfortable level.
• Do not listen at extremely high volume
levels. Extended high-volume listening
can lead to permanent hearing loss.
• Once you set the volume, do not increase
it. Over time, your ears adapt to the vol-
ume level, so a volume level that does
not cause discomfort might still damage
your hearing.
USING THE RADIO
1. Set
FUNCTION
to the desired band (
AM
or
FM
).
2. Use the tuning control to tune to the
desired station.
3. Adjust
VOLUME
as desired.
RECORD — press to record
from the radio or live, using the
built-in MIC.
FUNCTION RADIO OFF/TAPE–AM/FM —
slide to AM or FM to turn on the radio. Slide
to OFF/TAPE to turn off the radio or to use
the cassette functions.
VOLUME — rotate to
adjust the sound volume.
Telescoping FM Antenna
— extend fully for best FM
reception.
Built-in Microphone
— lets you make live
recordings.
Tuning Control — ro-
tate to select the de-
sired AM or FM
station.
DC 6V Adapter Jack
— allows you to power
the radio/cassette
player using an option-
al DC adapter.
REWIND — press to rewind a
tape to the desired location.
FAST-F — press to fast-
forward a tape to the de-
sired location.
STOP/EJECT — press to
stop tape play, recording,
fast-forwarding, or rewind-
ing, or to open the cas-
sette compartment door.
PAUSE — press to tempo-
rarily stop a tape. Press
again to resume play, re-
cording, rewinding, or fast-
forwarding.
Ferrite-Magnet Dynamic
Speaker — provides superb
sound from the radio and
tape recorder.
Notes:
• The radio/cassette player’s
automatic level control cir-
cuitry automatically adjusts
the recording level. VOL-
UME has no effect on
recording.
• Auto-stop automatically
stops a tape when it
reaches its end during both
play and recording.
• The radio/cassette player’s sensitive AM/FM
circuitry picks up even distant stations.
• The AM loop antenna is built-In. To get the
best AM reception, rotate the radio.
