Your Powerhorn requires eight C
batteries (not supplied) for power.
Replace the batteries when the
powerhorn’s sound weakens.

Set

SIREN ON/OFF

 to

OFF

.

Lift the battery compartment
cover’s latch and open the
cover.

Lift out the two battery
containers. Put four batteries in
each container, as indicated by
the diagrams on the containers.

Replace the battery containers
in the compartment with the
markings on the containers
facing away from the handle.

Close the cover and secure the
latch.

Using Powerhorn with
Microphone Mounted

You can operate the powerhorn
with one hand by mounting the
microphone on the rear of the
powerhorn.

Set

SIREN ON/OFF

 to

OFF

.

Align the slot in the
microphone’s back with the
mounting bracket on the
battery compartment cover and
slide the microphone onto the
bracket.

Slide the

TALK

 bar on the

microphone to

LOCK

.

Firmly hold the powerhorn and
place the microphone about
5 inches (12.7 cm) from your
mouth.

Press the talk button on the
powerhorn’s handle and speak
into the microphone. Release
the talk button when finished.

Using Powerhorn without
Microphone Mounted

When using the powerhorn for an
extended time, you can use the
shoulder strap to hold the powerhorn
and then use the microphone to
broadcast your message.

Set

SIREN ON/OFF

 to

OFF

.

Place the strap over your
shoulder and adjust it as
desired.

Place the microphone about 5
inches (12.7 cm) away from your

having to press the

the bar to the opposite position
to unlock it.

the speaker, decrease the volume or
adjust

”).

Adjusting Volume

Rotate

VOLUME

 on the microphone

toward 10 to increase, or toward 0 to
decrease the powerhorn’s volume.

Using Siren

To turn on the siren, set

SIREN

 to

ON

. To turn it off, set

SIREN

 to

OFF

.

WARNING:

Do not point the powerhorn directly at
someone when you turn on the siren.

Using Feedback Control

If you experience feedback
problems while using the
powerhorn indoors, open the
battery compartment and use
a small Phillips screwdriver to
rotate

FEEDBACK CONTROL

counterclockwise to reduce
feedback.

NOTE

Adjust

FEEDBACK CONTROL

 to

reduce feedback also reduces the
volume. To increase the volume,
rotate

FEEDBACK CONTROL

clockwise until the sound is audible
without feedback. If you are unsure
how to make this adjustment, take the
powerhorn to your local

RadioShack

store for assistance.

Care

Keep the powerhorn dry. If it gets wet,
wipe it dry immediately. Use and store
your powerhorn in normal temperature
environments only. Keep your powerhorn
away from dust and dirt. Wipe it with a
damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking
new.

Modifying or tampering with the
powerhorn’s internal components can
cause a malfunction and might invalidate
its warranty. If your powerhorn is not
performing as it should, take it to your local

RadioShack
