Cautions:
• The supplied DC adapter supplies
12 volts DC and has a center posi-
tive plug which properly fits the tele-
vision’s
DC 12–14V
jack. Using an
adapter that does not meet these
specifications could damage the
television or the adapter.
• Always unplug the DC adapter from
the cigarette-lighter socket before
you unplug it from the television.
CONNECTING ANTENNAS
Built-In Antenna
You can receive VHF and UHF broad-
cast signals by using the built-in tele-
scoping antenna, which usually provides
good reception for the TV and FM radio.
• Extend the antenna to its full length
for Channels 2–6 (VHF–LO).
• Extend the antenna to a shorter
length for Channels 7–13 (VHF–HI).
• For the best UHF reception, extend
the antenna to its full length for
Channels 14–69.
Outdoor Antenna
For improved reception, you can con-
nect an optional outdoor VHF/UHF an-
tenna to the television’s
EXT
ANT
jack.
• If the outdoor antenna wire is 300-
ohm double lead-in wire, connect
the wire using the supplied external
300-ohm antenna adapter.
• If the outdoor antenna wire or CATV
cable is 75-ohm coaxial cable, con-
nect the cable to the television’s
EXT
ANT
jack using an F-to-
1
/
8
-inch mini
plug adapter (such as Cat. No. 278-
257, not supplied).
Notes:
• Your local Radio Shack store carries
a wide selection of antennas and
adapters.

Warning: When you install an out-
door antenna, use extreme caution.
If the antenna starts to fall, let it go!
It could contact overhead power
lines. If the antenna touches the
power line, contact with the anten-
na, mast, cable, or guy wires can
cause electrocution and death. Call
the power company to remove the
antenna. Do not attempt to remove
it yourself!
