Your RadioShack 14-Inch DBS Compatible TV Antenna pro-
vides excellent reception of VHF and UHF signals in areas
where local stations are mid-range. Its compact, modern styling
makes it ideal for installation with DBS satellite systems.
The UV-protected housing is made of impact-resistant filled co-
polymer, making it resistant to weathering. Its design comple-
ments the DBS mini-dish, and with its bidirectional receiver and
dipoles, it is excellent for areas where there are stations in op-
posite directions.
The antenna comes with two DBS diplexers that let you com-
bine antenna and satellite cables outside the house and sepa-
rate them at the DBS receiver inside the house.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Before you begin installation, read this manual and the sepa-
rate Consumer Product Safety Commission information sheet.
For your safety and convenience, plan each step of the installa-
tion and purchase the necessary hardware in advance. The
hardware required and the order in which you perform the steps
depend on the mounting and connection methods you choose.
Warning: When you install your antenna, use extreme caution.
If the antenna starts to fall, let it go! It could contact overhead
power lines. If the antenna touches the power line, contact with
the antenna, mast, cable, or guy wires can cause electrocution
and death. Call the power company to remove the antenna.
Do
not attempt to remove it yourself.
ASSEMBLING THE ANTENNA
Assemble the entire antenna on the ground.
1. Use the supplied hardware to attach the supplied mounting
L-bracket to the bottom of the antenna.
2. Use the supplied hardware to loosely attach the mast
clamp assembly to the L-bracket.
3. Attach the two aluminum tubing elements to the antenna
using the supplied lock nuts.
CONNECTING LEAD-IN CABLE TO THE
ANTENNA
We recommend RG-6 cable and, if you prepare your own ca-
ble, a quality F-connector (both available at your local Ra-
dioShack store.)
Note: If you prepare your own coaxial cable, be sure to slide a
coax cable weather boot (not supplied) onto the cable before
you attach the F-connector.
To connect the cable to your antenna, screw the 75-ohm coaxi-
al cable’s F-connector onto the antenna’s jack. Then slip the
weather boot over the connection. (If you use a cable without a
