Charging the Internal Battery

You can charge the internal battery using the hand crank,

built-in solar panel, or micro USB port (USB IN).

The internal battery is not user-replaceable. Do not

attempt to replace the internal battery.

IMPORTANT!

Read all safety precautions at the end of

this User’s Guide before using the built-in Li-ion battery.

Charging Using the  Hand Crank

1.  Release and fully open the hand crank located on the

back of the radio.

2.  Crank in either direction in a steady, continuous,

circular motion.

3.  For best results, crank at approximately 2 rotations

per second (120 RPM).

4.  As you turn the crank handle, the CHARGING LED

on the front panel will illuminate to indicate that the

battery is charging. Note that if the radio is on, this

LED will illuminate continuously.

Charging Using the Solar Panel

•

Remove and dispose of the protective film from the

solar panel before first use.

•

For best results, leave the radio powered off during

solar charging.

•  Place the radio in a sunny location, with the solar

panel facing the sun.

•  To place the radio at an angle towards the sun, open

the battery cover and use it as a stand.

•  The CHARGING LED will illuminate to indicate that the

battery is charging; the brighter the LED illuminates, the

more power the radio is receiving from the solar panel.

•  Under ideal conditions, the internal battery will

become fully charged in approximately 20 hours.
