5.2.3.2 START MEASUREMENT
This option allows the user to take another
spectrum sample without having to go back to the
Main Menu and selecting IDENTIFY again. If this
option is selected the IDENTIFY sampling screen
(as shown in
Section 5.2.1
) is displayed and data
accumulation begins again. As the sample
progresses the display is updated at a 1/sec rate
as shown until the preset sample time is reached.
Labels are: (See
Section 5.2.1

5.2.3.3 VIEW SPECTRUM
This display shows the spectrum of the last
sample analyzed (SP#123). The figure shows a
typical display. Data is defined as described in
Section 5.2.1
. The only difference(s) are:
TIME/SET - show the sample preset time period –
the fact they are the same means the
sample terminated at its’ full count.
PEAK ENERGY/CH - show the energy and
channel for the peak that the cursor just
passed.
ZOOM and SCROLL Functions - In many cases
the user wants to inspect the spectrum in
greater detail so a zoom and scroll feature
is available.
ZOOM Feature – Use short joystick clicks up or
down to increase or decrease the scale for
the sampled spectrum (the sample figure
shows 4K). See
Appendix C
for the
complete listing of the Graph Scale. The
scale will be from LOG, 64cps to 4G in
increments of 2X. Clicking up will make the
graph larger and clicking down will make
the graph smaller.
Scroll Feature – Use short clicks left, or right to
scroll thru the sampled spectrum. Holding
the joystick left or right will move the cursor
