Fitting instructions for sputter insert Q150T
Check the machine is not operating.
Pull the Silver Knob on the top cover to release the latch.
Lift the top cover and lay back against its stop.
Turn the two silver securing catch knobs to release the installed insert and remove
the insert.
Note! If the insert is a carbon rod type you may have to remove the rods first. To do
this check that the silver securing catch knobs are restraining the insert and open the
lid assembly and lay back against the top cover assembly. Then, using a 2.5mm hex
key, release the rod clamping screws and withdraw the rods. Close the lid assembly
and release the insert by turning the silver securing catch knobs. Now remove the
insert.
Prepare the sputter insert for installation by removing from any packaging, plastic
bags etc. Check the ‘O’ ring in the outer ring of the lid assembly for damage or debris
and clean or replace as required. Then place the insert in position in the outer ring of
the lid assembly carefully locating the M3 screw head in the rim of the insert in the
slot to the right of the outer ring. Lock the insert in position by turning the silver
securing catch knobs until their flanges overlap the insert.
Plug the connector on the end of the sputter insert lead in to the socket on the hinge
assembly.
To fit a target to the sputter head first open the top cover
assembly and lay back against its stop.
Wearing latex gloves, unscrew the target clamp ring and hold a
new target in place on the holder with one finger through the
clamp ring. Screw the clamp ring firmly back in place. The target
should be held concentric to the holder.
Close the top cover assembly and press firmly down to secure the
