WARNING: Always wear eye protection when working with or around Lead Acid Batteries.

WARNING: If splashed by battery acid, immediately flush the area of the splash with clean 

water/ if a burning sensation is felt or any blistering occurs, seek medical help. If acid is 

splashed in the eyes, flush eyes with clean water continously and seek medical help.

WARNING: All Lead Acid Batteries generate hydrogen gas during normal operation, this process 

increases during a rapid discharge period such as when using for jumpstarting. Hydrogen gas 

and battery acid (sulfuric acid) can be:
 

•  Explosive 

•  Poisonous to breathe

 

•  Corrosive & will burn skin, eyes & hair 

•  Highly flammable

 

•  Damaging to unprotected metals 

•  Damaging to natural fiber clothing

WARNING: To avoid explosion and/or the possibility of an explosion, or being exposed to

battery acid:
1. Only use your iStart Portable Power Pack in a well ventilated area, indoor use is not           

recommended.
2. Follow all instructions in this manual which refers specifically to your unit.

Performance Guidelines & Precautions

Maintenance

  1.  Keep the iStart Portable Power Pack battery fully charged to a  
   

“full level” at all times. Please refer to the RECHARGE    

   

INSTRUCTIONS section of this manual for details.

  2.  Keep the iStart Portable Power Pack cable clamps free of debris  
   

and clean of dirt or other foreign objects. This will assure that the 

   

connection to the battery will be proper and correct.

  3.  Your iStart Portable Power Pack does not require any oil or other  
   

lubricants. DO NOT attempt to use any other liquids, fluids, etc.   

   

to lubricate.

  4.  Store your iStart Portable Power Pack (when not in use) in a dry  
   

area and avoid keeping it in a damp location.

  5.  Avoid exposing your iStart Portable Power Pack to excessively hot  
   

or excessively cold temperatures for lengthy periods of time. It is 

   

best to store you iStart within a temperature range between 

   

60˚F to 85˚F. If the iStart Portable Power Pack gets dirty, simply  

   

wipe down with a damp cloth to clean.
