 toasters

Before First Use

Before using the toaster for the first time please repeat the process below 2-3 times to ensure the ele-
ments are cured properly and your toaster is ready to be used.
•  Set the browning level to maximum.
•  Operate the appliance empty, to cure the new elements.
•  This may smell a bit, but it’s nothing to worry about.
•  Ensure the room is well ventilated.

Making Toast

•  Sit the toaster upright on a firm, level, heat-resistant surface and plug into the power socket.
•  Turn the browning control to the required setting (1 = low, 7 = high).
•  Put bread into the toasting slots (maximum thickness 27mm) and press the lever down fully.
•  PLEASE NOTE: It won’t lock down unless the toaster is connected to the electricity supply.
•  The cancel lights will glow, and the elements will heat up .
•  When it’s done, the toast will pop up.
•  To stop toasting, press the cancel button.
•  If you are using frozen bread you can use the defrost function
•  Leave the browning level at your favoured setting, insert the frozen bread, lower the lever, then press

the defrost button.

•  The defrost light will glow, and the toasting time will be altered automatically to give the same degree

of  browning you get with unfrozen bread.

•  To reheat a piece of toast use the reheat button
•  Leave the browning control at your favoured setting, insert the bread, lower the lever, then press the

reheat button.

•  The reheat light will glow, and the toast will be given a short burst of heat. Don’t reheat “buttered”,

torn, or misshapen bread.

Bread Slices

•  The type of bread, its moisture content, age, thickness and number of slices all have an effect on the

degree of toasting.

•  If you are going to toast two slices of bread side by side, they should be of the same type of bread,

have the same moisture content and be of the same age. (Wherever possible, bread should be kept
wrapped).

•  The overall thickness of the bread should not exceed 1.5 cm.
•  If the bread slices are very thin, they will not be centred automatically and they should be toasted

on the lowest setting in order to avoid them becoming burnt on one side.
