5.1. Setting Switch Positions
The switches decide on the function and configuration of PiXtend eIO. For the first
commissioning and tests, all switches are factory-set (see page 11). It is not absolutely
necessary to change this factory setting.
All PiXtend eIO devices have two switch blocks with a total of 16 individual switches. All
basic settings are made via these:

Switch „T“ - termination resistor:
In a RS485 bus system, a terminating resistor is always required at the two bus
ends. PiXtend eIO devices have such a terminating resistor integrated, which can
be activated via the switch "T":
Position "ON": Termination active - device is at the bus end
Position "OFF": Termination inactive - device is not located at the end of the bus
(factory setting)
