The Viterbi decoder and Reed-Solomon decoder can be disabled or enabled by clicking on the appropriate check
box while a legacy PSK mode is selected (BPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, AQPSK, AUQPSK, or UQPSK). Likewise, the
Convolutional Symbol setting for Viterbi decoding can be disabled or enabled by clicking on its check box.
Interleave depth for Reed-Solomon decoding may be changed by typing in the desired number, or by using the
up/down arrows to scroll to the desired setting.

Advanced PCM/FM Settings
The Advanced PCM/FM Settings window is shown in Figure 236. When the modulation is set to PCM/FM, the
Scale Settings window includes settings for modulation scaling indexes. In any other mode, the Scale Settings are
not available.

4.5.3.5.1 Modulation Index Scaling Mode
The Modulation Index Scaling Mode option allows the operator to manually set the modulation scale index. This
enables the receiver to operate at the optimum range of modulation desired by the user. The valid modulation scaling
index
range is 0.350 to 8.000.
