Plug control unit power cord into power outlet. Ensure the power cord is run underneath the mattress toward
the head of the bed to avoid becoming a tripping hazard.
•
The
STANDBY LED
will illuminate when control unit is plugged into electrical outlet.
•
Press the
STANDBY/OPERATE
button on the front panel (OPERATE LED will now be illuminated and the
control unit will be in operation)
•
Press the
INSTA FLATE
button to activate quick inflation; allow 1 minute for full inflation. After fully inflated
press
INST FLATE
again to end the fast inflation mode.
•
Choose the appropriate therapy mode. In most cases you will want rotation to both the left and right side. To
choose this mode press
CONT TURN.
To choose turning so that the patient will turn, facing only toward their
left, choose
LEFT TURN
. To choose turning so that the patient will turn, facing only toward their right, choose
RIGHT TURN
.
•
CYCLE
– Press Cycle repeatedly to choose how much time your patient should be positioned in each phase of
the turn cycle. For example, if you choose 10, your patient will spend 10 minutes in each of your chosen
positions (flat – left – flat – right – flat).
•
BT
– When rotation is engaged (CONT TURN), the system will rotate to 20 degrees. Pres BT to increase
rotation to 40 degrees.
•
When the system starts it will take a few minutes before you will see the first turn. There is an internal
mechanical stepping valve that controls inflation/deflation. The first turn you will see is a short up and down
on one side. This indicates the timer is at it’s starting point.
•
STATIC
– Press STATIC to stop rotation. With Rotation therapy disengaged, the system will provide ONLY True
Low Air Loss therapy. This system does NOT provide alternating pressure therapy.
•
Comfort Control
- Adjust the pressure setting. The control panel shows settings 1 – 8 with 1 being most soft
and 8 being most firm. Optimizing pressure for individual clients should be done in collaboration with a
healthcare professional. Adjust pressure up or down to determine a setting that provides optimal comfort while
ensuring there is at least 4” between the clients’ deepest point of emersion and the bottom of the mattress.
•
ALARM
– If power is lost, the alarm will sound. To turn alarm off, press the ALARM button on the front of the
control unit.
AIR FILTER must be cleaned monthly and replaced as needed.
