a. Access the
Service Menu

b. Navigate to
Hardware Configuration > Setup external Storage > Reset Array BBU date
.
c. Follow the prompts to reset the age counter of the replacement BBU. Make sure to specify the
correct Array module.
8. Run
Factory Detect Hardware
from the
Service Menu
to detect the new hardware (see
).
9. In the remote management console, delete any administrative alerts and close any service tickets.

Canister
Before beginning the replacement procedure, make sure that you have the required replacement kit. The
appropriate replacement Expansion module ESM canister will be provided by Quantum Customer Support.
You will need the following items to perform this procedure:

Replacement Expansion module ESM canister provided by Quantum Customer Support.
l
ESD grounding wrist strap (included in the replacement kit)
