Lift the Line Plug Cover out of the TLS.

Use a number 2 Phillips screwdriver to remove all six Rear Service Panel mount-
ing screws, then remove the Rear Service Panel (Figure 7-25).
8.
Carefully cut the Cable Tie on the Executive PCBA that is attached to the Fan
Assembly’s power cables. See (Figure 7-16).
9.
Unplug the Fan Assembly's power cable from the Executive PCBA at the 12V
Fans connector (Figure 7-16).

Unplug the SCSI Cable from the Executive PCBA (Figure 7-16), disconnect it
from the tape drives, then remove it from the TLS.

If the TLS has a Serial Port Connector, remove the Serial Port Connector's
mounting screws (Figure 7-28), then lower the connector out of the TLS through
the Drive Access Hatch opening.
NOTE
Some styles of Fan Assembly housings have nuts attached to the mounting screws and some al-
low the mounting screws to thread directly into the housing. In the next step, those housings
that use nuts will have the nuts come loose when the screws are removed. Use the holes in the
left side of the TLS’ frame to reach the nuts on the back/left side of the Fan Assembly.

Remove all four Fan Assembly mounting screws (See Figure 7-15).
