Unpacking
There are no special unpacking precautions. However, it is recommended that you keep the original packing materials for reuse in the rare event that
service is required. If service is required and the original packing material is not available, ensure that the unit is adequately protected for shipment
(use a strong box of appropriate size with sufficient packing/padding material to prevent load shifting or impact damage), or call QSC’s Technical
Services Group for replacement packing material and a carton.
I/O-22 Packing List
Mounting
The Q-Sys I/O-22 is designed to be mounted in a small area, in any orientation. In addition, you can use either of two mounting options as
described below.
Mounting Option 1
Mounting Option 1 secures the Mounting Bracket to the mounting surface, then
the I/O-22 unit is snapped into the bracket. You can easily remove the I/O-22
box from the Mounting Bracket, while the Mounting Bracket itself stays on the
mounting surface.
1. Use the Mounting Bracket as a template, and mark the five screw holes
(Figure 5)
on the mounting surface.
2. Using an appropriate size drill bit for the screws you are going to use, drill five
holes in the mounting surface where you marked them in step
1
.
3. Use an appropriate screw driver and five screws to secure the Mounting Bracket
to the mounting surface.
4. Ensure that the screws are screwed in all the way to prevent damage, and allow
enough clearance to install the I/O-22 unit.
ROTE!:
Depending on the available clearance for your installation,
you may connect the cabling before or after attaching the I/O-22 to
the Mounting Bracket.
Refer to
Figure 6
5. Carefully align the Mounting Pins
(1)
on the I/O-22 with the slots in the
Mounting Bracket. Ensure both sides are aligned properly.
6. Push up on the I/O-22 until the Mounting Pins are at the top of the vertical
portion of the slots.
7. Push back on the I/O-22 until the Mounting Pins are at the back of the horizontal portion of the slot, and the Mounting Bracket Locking Detent is
engaged with the Detent Hole
(2)
on the Mounting Bracket.
8. Refer to
“Connections” on page 11
for instructions on connecting the cables to the I/O-22 .
