5.2.5 Shutting down the BioRobot M48
1. Close the QIAsoft M software (Section 5.2.3).
2. Switch off the computer and its monitor.
3. Switch off the BioRobot M48 at its power switch.
5.3 Main features of the QIAsoft M software
The QIAsoft M software consists of a sequence of windows
that guide the user through all stages of operation of the
BioRobot M48, from selecting a protocol to sterilizing the
instrument at the end of the protocol run.
Each window of the software has the following features:
• Menu
bar
• Worktable graphic — shows the layout of the worktable
and indicates which slots need to be filled
• Temperature indicators — show both the required and
actual temperatures of Heat/Cool Blocks 1 and 2
• Text field — provides instructions for the user
In addition, the first window of the software contains a
protocol selection box for selecting protocols.
After following the instructions provided in a window, the user
clicks the “Next” button to move to the next window.
If necessary, the user can click the “Back” button to return to
an earlier window in order to correct a mistake there.
5.3.1 Menu bar
The menu bar contains 3 menus: Manual Operation, Setting,
and Help.
Clicking a menu displays a drop-down list from which a
submenu can be selected.
