Initial Configuration
Upgrade Kernel, Uboot and Rootfs

After upgrading the firmware image file, check if there is a need to upgrade the kernel, uboot, and root
file system.
To determine whether an upgrade is necessary, perform the following:
Boot to normal mode and execute the

“whichboot”
command to check the switch kernel and
uboot versions.

Check the firmware release notes to determine whether an upgrade is necessary.

To upgrade the kernel, uboot, and root file system, perform the following:
Connect the TFTP server to the switch via the management port.

Set the service port IP address using the following commands:

Connect the console cable to the console port.

On a terminal emulation program (such as Teraterm or HyperTerm), set the baud rate to

115200 (115200, n, 8, 1).
When prompted for the username and password, input “admin” for the username and leave

Prepare the TFTP server and save the latest image (kernel, uboot, rootfs) in its root directory

Take note where the image is saved.
