5 Transport and storage
Attention!
This motor may only be put into operation by trained and instructed operators.
Only qualified persons may carry out the electrical wiring.
•
Store the motor in its original packaging until installation.
•
Under no circumstances should the motor be stored at temperatures
above 50 °C as this could lead to leakage of the filling fluid and
premature failure of the motor.
6 Motor cable extension
Use joints with shrink wrap, sealing compound or ready-made cable ties. Protect joints from
penetrating moisture (strictly follow manufacturer's instructions).
Note
The installers themselves are responsible for the correct selection and sizing of the drop.
Cable! The cable must be approved for use in the medium and at prevailing temperatures.
7 Electrical connection
Follow the specifications on both the name plate and the attached record sheet.
The following connection examples refer to the motor itself. There are no recommendations for
control features connected to the input.
7.1 Motor protection and safety
Make sure to install an external mains switch so that the system can be switched off completely at any
time.
Ensure that fuses are installed for each individual phase.
Ensure the installation of motor overload protection in the switch box.
Warranty is void without thermal protection.
Motor protection according to EN 60947-4-1 ed.3:2010
Tripping time at 500 % IN < 10 s (cold bimetal).
Provide an emergency shutdown option.
7.2 Grounding
When sizing the earthing according to EN 60034-1 ed.2:2011, take the rated
motor power into account.
•
The motor must be grounded.
•
Ensure good contact of the protective conductor terminal.
7.3 Lightning protection
Surge protection (lightning surge protection) must be installed in the control cabinet on all input phases.
