Static Route
Static Route allows you to add routing rules into the router for using IPv4 and IPv6. It is useful if you
connect several routers behind your router to share the same connection to the Internet.
When you click on Add Route, the Create New Route window will open. Enter the required
information into the fields:
•
Name: Enter a Name for the new rule.
•
Destination Network: Enter the IP address of packets that will take this route.
•
Mask: Enter the netmask of the route.
•
Gateway: Enter your next hop gateway to be taken if this route been used.
•
Metric: The route metric is a value from 1 to 16 that indicates the cost of using this route. A
value 1 is the lowest cost, and 15 is the highest cost.
•
Interface: Select the interface that the IP packet must use to transit out of the router when this
route is used. By default the option is WAN.
•
Click Add when done.
