c)
When starting the saw again in the workpiece, centre the saw blade in
the cut and check that the saw teeth have not jammed in the material.
If
the saw blade is jammed, it may run up or kick back on the workpiece when
the saw is restarted.
d)
Supports large panels to minimise the risk of jamming and kickback.
Large panels tend to sag under their own weight. Supports should be placed
under the panel on both sides, close to the cut line and close to the edge of
the panel.
e)
Do not use blunt or damaged knives.
Unfocused or improperly adjusted
blades produce a narrow kerf, leading to excessive friction, blade binding and
kickback.
f)
The locking levers for blade depth and bevel adjustment must be
engaged before cutting.
If the blade adjusts while cutting, it can cause
binding and kickback.
g)
Take extra care when making a "diving cut" in existing walls or other
blind areas.
The protruding blade can cut through objects that may cause
recoil.
Safety rules for circular saws
a)
Check that the lower protective cover is properly closed before each use.
Do not use the saw if the lower guard does not move freely and close
immediately. Never clamp or tie the lower guard in the open position.
If
the saw accidentally falls, the lower cover may be bent. Raise the lower cover
using the retractable handle and check that it moves freely and does not touch
the guide bar or other components, at all cutting angles and depths.
b)
Check the function of the spring of the lower guard. If the guard and
spring do not function properly, they must be checked before use.
The
lower guard may operate slowly due to damaged parts, sticky deposits or a
build-up of dirt.
c)
The lower guard may only be retracted manually for special cuts, such
as "plunge cuts" and "compound cuts". Raise the lower guard by pulling
the lever and release the lower guard as soon as the blade penetrates
the material.
For all other sawing work, the lower protective cover must
operate automatically.
d)
Always check that the lower protective cover covers the saw blade
before placing the saw on the table or floor.
An unprotected, receding saw
blade will cause the saw to run backwards and cut through anything in its path.
Note the time it takes for the guide bar to stop after the switch is released.
WARNING!
Never use abrasive wheels in circular saws.
