Place a suitable container next to the oil plug.
Unscrew the oil plug. Tilt the generator and
drain the used engine oil. Dispose of the
used oil in accordance with local rules and
regulations.
Tip: Changing engine oil is easiest when the
engine is warm and the oil is uid.
Fill with approximately 0.4 litres of clean new
15W-40 engine oil using the supplied funnel
(18).
Screw the oil plug tightly back into place.
Check that the oil level is between the L and
H marks on the dipstick, as described above.
Air lter
Always check the air lter before use.
Remove and clean the air lter every 3
months or 50 hours of operation.
Unscrew the screw in the middle of the air
lter cover (16) and lift off the air lter.
Take the lter element out.
Clean the lter element in hot water and
mild detergent. Rinse with clean water. Press
the water out of the lter element and allow
it to dry. Pour new engine oil onto the lter
element, and press any excess oil from it.
Replace the lter element, and replace the
cover.
Remember! Never start the generator
without the air lter in place.
Fuel lter
The fuel lter is located under the fuel tank.
Check whether the fuel lter is dirty regularly.
Unscrew the fuel cap (2) and lift off fuel lter.
Clean the fuel lter in clean petrol to remove
any impurities.
Replace the fuel lter.
Spark plug
Clean carbon deposits from the spark plug
after the rst 20 hours of operation, and then
after every 50 hours of operation or every 3
months.
Remove the spark plug cap (15) sitting on the
spark plug.
Brush away any dust from the area around
the spark plug.
Unscrew the spark plug using the supplied
spark plug spanner (20).
Use a feeler gauge to measure the electrode
gap, which should be 0.6 mm.
Clean the spark plug with a steel brush or
replace it if necessary.
Retighten the spark plug fully and replace
the spark plug cap.
Other engine parts
Other engine parts may only be serviced,
repaired or adjusted by an authorised
workshop.
Transport and storage
If the generator is not to be used for a
period longer than 2 months, the following
procedure must be performed before putting
it away:
Empty the petrol in the fuel tank into a
suitable container. Start the engine and allow
the generator to run dry of petrol.
Clean the outside of the generator.
Change the engine oil.
Remove the spark plug and pour around 40
ml of clean new 15W-40 engine oil into the
hole by the spark plug. Replace the spark
plug, but do not replace the spark plug cover.
Pull the starter handle so the engine turns
over 2-3 times.
Pull the starter handle slowly until you feel
resistance.
