MITRE GAUGE
The mitre gauge (D) placed into the work table’s slot, allows a
workpiece to move back and forth against the sanding belt or
disc, while maintaining a constant angle. The mitre gauge can
be set to 60º angle on either side of the center point.
The angled edge will have a wider width than the workpiece
width. Measure the length of the angled cut to determine if the
sanding belt or disc should is more suitable for the workpiece.
1. Loosen the locking knob on the mitre gauge.
2. Rotate either left or right to obtain the correct angle. Use
an angle finder for greater accuracy.
3. Tighten the locking gauge.
4. Place the mitre gauge into the work table slot.
5. Hold the workpiece against the mitre gauge, then move the
workpiece along the gauge into the sanding belt or disc.
Move back and forth while gradually feeding the workpiece
into the sanding belt/disc.
6. Pull the workpiece back along the mitre gauge, then
remove the workpiece entirely to inspect.
7. Use the mitre gauge with small workpieces to better retain
control while sanding.
