SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! The tool is not electrically insulated. Never use the
tool if there is a chance of it coming into contact with
live electricity.
WARNING! Some wood contains preservative such as copper
chromium arsenate (CCA), which can be toxic. When working on
these materials extra care should be taken to avoid inhalation and
minimize skin contact.
1. Before using this tool, make sure you know the work area
and material you are working on. Make sure you do not
accidentally puncture pipes, pressurized containers or
electrical cables.
2. Do not point the tool at yourself, or others. Keep hands and
other body parts away from the nosepiece to avoid injury.
3. Only use with accessories rated to handle the forces exerted
by this tool during operation. Accessories not designed for
the forces generated may break and forcefully launch pieces.
4. Attach all accessories properly to the tool before connecting
the air supply. A loose accessory may detach or break
during operation.
5. Do not lay the tool down until it has come to a complete
stop. Moving parts can grab the surface and pull the tool out
of your control.
6. The chisels will become hot while chipping or scaling. Allow
the chisels to completely cool before touching.
7. When chipping or scaling in a potentially explosive
environment, use a spark resistant chisel (usually made of
beryllium copper).
8. Chisels that are worn or blunt at the cutting edge or shank.
A damaged chisel may damage the air hammer, reducing
efficiency and increasing vibration. A chisel that breaks can
cause injury.
9. Do not store chisels below 0°C (32°F). Freezing
temperatures can make hardened steels brittle, which can
cause breakage and lead to injury.
