out beyond the red marker.
Pulling the cord out further
can damage the cable reel.

1. Pull the mains cord (12) out
until the yellow marking is visi-
ble on the mains cord.
If the red marking is visible, the
mains cord has been pulled
out too far. Allow the mains
cord to retract slightly (see sec-
tion "Finishing vacuuming" on
page EN-18).
2. Insert the mains plug (12) into
a properly installed socket.

3. Use your foot to operate the
on/off foot switch (3), to switch
the appliance on.
4. To vacuum, push and pull the
nozzle across the surface you
are vacuuming. Rotate the tele-
scopic tube handle (14) slightly
to reach corners more effec-
tively. This positions the nozzle
diagonally.
In rare cases this can make a
whistling noise initially. This
is not a malfunction and stops after
a while.
