Important Safeguards
When using the electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
•
Check that the mains voltage corresponds with the rating of the appliance before operating.
•
Do not touch hot surfaces – Use handles or knobs.
•
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cords, plugs or appliances in water or any
other liquid.
•
Do not leave any appliance unattended while it is operating.
•
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children or infirm
persons.
•
Unplug from outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or
taking off any parts.
•
Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance has been
damaged in any manner. If the supply cord or appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
•
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it come into contact with
any hot surfaces.
•
To disconnect – remove the plug from the outlet. Do not pull plug out by the cord.
•
Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use. This appliance is for
household use only.
•
No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by non-compliance with these
instructions or any other improper use or mishandling.
•
Before switching on, ensure the slices of bread do not get jammed in the toaster slots.
However, if this happens unplug the appliance first and then take out the jammed bread slice.
•
The housing of the toaster will become very hot during use especially in the area of the
toaster slots. Please be careful to avoid being burned. Please only use the control knob, lever
and button for operation.
•
Do not insert fingers or metal objects like knives or forks into the bread slots.
•
Do not cover the bread slots while in operation.
•
Keep the appliance away from the wall, curtain and combustible material during use.
Cleaning
•
Before cleaning, switch off and unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
•
Remove the crumbs from the browning slots and grids with the appliance not tilted. Then
slide out the crumb tray, clean it and place back into the appliance.
Outside cleaning:
Clean the outside of the appliance gently with a damp and soft cloth, and then wipe it with a dry
cloth. Never use steel wire, abrasive cloth and other caustic agents, as they will damage the
finish of the appliance.
Maintenance
Do not dismantle the appliance or change its cord yourself. If there is any trouble with the
appliance, please have it adjusted or repaired by a qualified technician.
