This list is made to help you solve common problems that may occur in the use of the unit. Check these
points before asking for help to authorized technical service personnel.
WARNING:
Under no circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this would invalidate the
guarantee.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
VOLUME not adjusted
Headphones are connected
Batteries are incorrectly inserted
Mains lead is not correctly connected
Electrostatic discharge
Weak radio aerial signal
Interference caused by the vicinity of
electrical equipment like TVs, video
recorders, computers, thermostats,
fluorescent lamps (TL) engines etc.
Dust and dirt on the heads, capstan
or pinch roller
Cassette tab(s) maybe broken out
The disc is dirty
The disc is upside down
The CD player is in Pause
REMEDY
Adjust the VOLUME
Disconnect the headphones
Insert fresh batteries
Connect the mains lead properly
Switch off the unit, disconnect the
mains plug, reconnect after a few
seconds
Aim the aerial for best reception:
FM: incline and rotate the telescopic
aerial
Straighten up the wire antenna
AM: rotate the entire unit
Keep the unit away from electrical
equipment
Clean the heads etc...
Apply a piece of adhesive tape over
the missing tab space
Clean or replace the disc
Turn it over so that the label faces up
Release the Pause mode

The unit does not react to
operation of any button

Poor radio reception

Poor cassette sound quility
