Smart Card Module
The smart card module „S4/R2“ HID® OMNIKEY® 5122 is a combined read-/write-
device for contact-based and contactless applications. It’s able to communicate with
contact-based smart cards and contactless tags, smart cards and other devices or
documents equipped with NFC/RFID.
Driver/SDK:
There is no manual driver installation needed for this module.
It uses the existing CCID drivers of the OS. As software interface
the standardized PC/SC interface is used.
Proper use of the contactless device:
For proper function the nearest environment of the ML 4 should be free of
metal parts or other RFID-devices. By default the device has a transmission
range of some centimeters. To exchange data, hold or place your RFID-
enabled device or document over the marked area and start the trans-
mission.
Proper use of the contact device:
In order to read or write a chip card, carefully insert the
chip card into the read slot. A slight click indicates that
the end position has been attained. Reading or writing
can now be executed.
