To begin using the tool:

1.

As a standard practice, drain water from the air
compressor tank and air lines prior to use each day
(reference your compressor operators manual for
detailed instructions).

2.

Install a 1/4” NPT male connector (not included) into the
air inlet port on the tool (see Figure 2).

Note: Use

Teflon® Tape on all threaded connections.

3.

Turn on the air compressor and allow it to build up
pressure.

4.

Adjust the air compressor’s regulator or the supply line
regulator to 90 PSI.

5.

Locate the point on the work object to be drilled. Mark
that point with a center punch or an awl to provide a seat for the drill bit.

6.

Secure the object in a vise or clamp. Holding an item in the hand may cause injury if it is seized by the drill
bit.

7.

Select the proper size drill bit.

Always disconnect the drill from the air supply before installing or removing a drill bit.

Failure to do so, may result in personal injury.

8.

Insert the chuck key into one of the three chuck key holes. Turn the chuck key counter-clockwise to open the
jaws of the drill. Insert the drill bit into the jaws, making sure to keep it in the center. Turn the chuck key
clockwise to tighten the jaws around the drill bit.

Always remove the chuck key from the chuck before attaching the air supply.

9.

Connect the tool to the air hose quick coupler.

NOTE: It is recommended that a whip hose with a swivel

(P012-0079SP - not included) be used to prevent twisting, kinking and excessive wear to the air hose
(ref. item “F” in figure 1 for recommended connections).

Note: Your tool may be equipped with a Forward/Reverse lever located on the left side of the tool next to the
trigger. When the lever is set in the forward position (“F”), the tool will turn in a clockwise (right-hand)
rotation. When the lever is moved to the reverse position (“R”), the tool will run in a counterclockwise
(left-hand) rotation.

10.

Place the drill bit tip on the exact point marked and start the drill.

Never apply a spinning drill bit to a

work object.

11.

Hold the drill firmly, gently squeeze the trigger, and apply steady even pressure. When drilling deep holes,
withdraw the drill bit several times to clear cuttings. A lubricant can be used when drilling metal to avoid
friction. Before drilling completely through an object, reduce the pressure applied to the drill to prevent the
drills chuck from causing damage.
