NOTE:
PowerMadd’s Tri-mount is designed to mount to the upward
sweep section of your handle bars (see the Figure 1).
STEP 1
:
Thread the rod mount into the handle bar mount. Do not tighten yet, you will need to adjust this
later.
STEP 2:
Install the handle bar mount onto the upward sweep of your bars (see Figure 1).
STEP 3:
Remove the 6mm lock nut and 6mm bolt from the Duckbill spacer. The Duckbill spacer goes
between the two mounting tabs of your handguard. Mount the handguard as shown in Figure 2. Slide the 6mm
bolt through both the handguard tabs and Duckbill spacer. Do not install lock nut yet. There are more
adjustments to be made.
STEP 4:
Position the handle bar mount so that the spine of the handguard is close to parallel with your hand
grips and with enough space to operate your levers. This can be
accomplished by moving the handle bar mount up and down on your
handle bars and twisting on your handle bars and by rotating the rod
mount up and down. Once you get the handguards where you want
them, tighten the handle bar mount with a 4mm hex wrench. Then
tighten the jam nut on the rod mount against the bar mount using a
17mm wrench so the rod is locked into place.
STEP 5:
Position the handguard so that the end of the handguard is
even with the end of your handle bars. You can also adjust the tilt of
the handguard to your personal taste. This can be accomplished by
spinning the two jam nuts and Duckbill spacer in or out as needed.
You will need to remove your handguard to do this. Once you have
your adjustments, tighten the two 10mm jam nuts with 17mm
wrenches. Install the handguard as you did in step 3 but this time
install the 6mm lock nut and tighten with 10mm wrench. Repeat the
same steps for the other side and you’re done.
Note: All fasteners may need to be re-tightened after the first ride.
Check the tightness of the mount and handguard before each ride.
