Battery Charging

Important Notes

• Before charging the batteries, exam-

ine the battery cases for cracks and
other damage which may cause
sulfuric acid (electrolyte) to leak dur-
ing the charging process. If damage
is detected, do not charge the bat-
teries or use them in your vehicle.
Battery acid is very corrosive and
can cause severe damage to sur-
faces it contacts.

• If your batteries are already

installed in your vehicle, unplug
the vehicle's motor harness and
battery connectors.

• To charge the batteries, plug

the charger connector and battery
connector together. Push firmly to
make sure the two connectors are
completely joined.

Note: Make sure the two battery con-
nectors are stacked.
• Plug the charger into a standard 120

volt wall outlet. (If power flow to the
wall outlet is controlled by a switch,
make sure the switch is ON.)

Use with Type "H" Vehicles

If your battery connector looks like
the one pictured above, you have a
Type "H" vehicle with connector cov-
ers and must use the enclosed Wire
Harness Converter with this charger.

• Do not charge the batteries

on a surface which could be dam-
aged by the acid contained inside
the batteries. Take precautions to
protect the surface on which you
charge your batteries.

• The batteries must be upright while

charging. You do not need to remove
the batteries from your vehicle to
charge them.

• Remove the connector cover from

your old charger and reassemble
it on the H-style end of the
enclosed Wire Harness Converter.

• Plug the end of the Wire Harness

Converter with Connector Cover
to your battery connector. The
A-Style end of the Wire Harness
Converter will plug into the
A-Style connector on your
new charger.
