ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Numbered and letter references in parenthesis (#1) (A) refer to the included
Parts List.
Prepare one 17 mm open-end wrench and one 5 mm hex wrench. Do not fully
tighten all bolt and nut connections until assembly is complete.
Consult the Parts Breakdown for assembly guidance.
1. Connect a left and right cross brace (#1 and 2) to a cross brace extension
(#3). Position the tube’s longer part below the cross bar for additional
overall height. Reverse to reduce the overall height. Additional height is
suggested when carrying a bowed canoe or similar watercraft.
a. Insert the end of each cross brace over the extension bar.
b. Measure the distance between the cross braces (you can adjust them
later).
c. Insert a hex head set screw (D) into the left and right cross brace and
tighten to secure against the cross brace extension.
d. Remove and relocate the end caps into the upper tube.
e. Repeat with the other cross brace set.
2. Insert the ‘legs’ of a cross brace assembly over the left and right upright
(#4 and #5). Secure each upright with a hex head set screw (D).
a. The legs of the rear assembly fact the front.
3. Position the front rack close to the truck’s cab. The front uprights face to
the rear.
a. Loosen one hex head set screw (D).
b. Adjust the width until the mounting plates are properly positioned
against the inside of the bed rail. Loosen the other hex head set screw
if necessary.
