Assembly

Use the Parts Diagram as a guide to aid in assembly and operation.
This tool must be used with the tire changer. References to the tire changer or its parts will
be made in italic type.

Secure the upper crossbeam (2) to the centre post (1) with the knob. Bolt the upright post (3) to both the upper
crossbeam and the adjustable support tube (8). Attach a wheel clamp (4) to each support tube (5)
Secure the motorcycle changer attachment to the tire changer with the knob.

Operation

1.

Place the motorcycle tire assembly on the triangle frame.

2.

Check to ensure that the centre post is able to fit through the centre of the wheel into the tire changer,
but do not fit it in yet.

3.

Tighten the wheel clamps against the rim and tighten.

4.

Tightly secure the adjustable wheel clamp.

5.

Ensuring the center post is facing down, insert it into the axle hole or through the centre of the wheel
into the centre post of the tire changer.

Bead Breaking

Apply rubber lubricant (not included) to make bead breaking, demounting and mounting easier.

1.

Insert the flat end of the mount/demount bar into the bead breaker handle. Set the bead breaker shoe
on the tire against the edge of the rim. Adjust the shoe height per tire size by removing the clevis pin
and moving the bead breaker shoe to the appropriate height. Then reinsert the pin.

2.

Push down the mount/demount bar, forcing the bead off the rim. Repeat in several locations if
necessary.

3.

After the bead is broken, turn the tire assembly over and repeat the process on the other side.

Demounting and Mounting Tires

1.

After the bead is broken, place the tire assembly on the machine with the valve stem facing up. Secure
the tire.

2.

Force the flat end of the mount/demount bar in between the tire and the rim. The flat end of the bar
must be against the rim. Pull the bar toward you, across the tire, to force the edge of the bead over the
rim.

3.

Work the bar all the way around the centre post to demount the tire completely. If the tire has a tube,
remove it now.

4.

Pull the tire toward the top bead and place the flat end of the mount/demount bar between the tire and
rim as before, and repeat.

5.

Remove tire and repair tire and/or tube

Note: Do not forget to use rubber lubricant.

6.

To remount the tire back on the rim, set the tire on top of the rim. Hook the mount end of the mount/
demount bar over the edge of the rim. Push the tire forward over the rim at the mount/demount bar.
Position the bead so it will slide across the flat portion of the hook. Press down on the tire with one
hand against the rim. With the other hand, pull the bar clockwise around the centre post until the bead
starts to mount onto the rim. It should only have to move a few inches before you can let go of the tire
and use both hands on the bar. Continue around the rim until the tire mounts over the edge of the bead.
Repeat the procedure on the second beat to completely remount the tire.

If the tire begins to seat while being mounted, it will need to stretch more, which will make it difficult to
mount. To prevent this, press down on the tire so it doesn't seat on the upper edge of the rim during
mounting.
