c. Close the compartment door.
d. Rotate the levering access (teardrop)
flap (Figure 18, a) on the compartment
door 180° so that the racking drive shaft
extension is visible (Figure 18).
e. Insert the racking handle onto the
racking drive shaft extension.
To ensure the racking handle remains
connected to the racking drive shaft extension
during the racking in of the circuit breaker, it
is important for the operator to “follow” the
breaker with the racking handle as it travels to
the connected position.

a. Press and hold the manual trip operator
(Figure 17, a) and simultaneously open
the racking drive shaft shutter. Place
the racking drive shaft extension socket
(Figure 17, a) onto the racking drive
shaft. The racking drive shaft extension
socket may be used to push down the
shutter to gain access to the racking
drive shaft.
b. Release the manual trip operator. It will
remain actuated as long as the shutter
is held open by the racking drive shaft
extension socket.
