After the circuit breaker has been removed
from its shipping crate it may be rolled on
its own wheels on a level surface. This is
the preferred way of handling the circuit
breaker. When rolling the circuit breaker it
is recommended that it should be pushed
and steered by using the optional fifth wheel
assembly. The fifth wheel assembly allows for
easy maneuverability of the circuit breaker
when handling. Align the two upper guide
pins of the fifth wheel assembly with holes
in the support angles (
) that extend
from front base pan. Using a 7/8” socket,
tighten the hexhead bolt on top of the fifth
wheel assembly. This will drive the lifting block
upwards until the guide pins engage the holes
on the support angles and the front wheels of
the circuit breaker are lifted off the ground. At
this point the circuit breaker may be handled or
moved.
Do not handle or move the circuit breaker by
the primary disconnecting devices as damage
may occur.
!
CAUTION
If necessary, the circuit breaker can be moved
by a fork lift truck or an overhead crane.
When using a fork lift truck take care to avoid
components located under the circuit breaker
floor pan. The forks on the truck should be
set for a dimension to allow the forks to ride
under the wheel axles. The circuit breaker can
also be lifted by an overhead crane using the
two lifting holes which have been provided for
hooks at the top of the circuit breaker frame
.
