1.0 Introduction
Todays information technologies development has increased the importance
of data security. It is a result of the growing information efficiency and easy
online access to the data. Intelligent KVM switch E320 is a first device of
its kind which can protect data against theft or damage. The protection level
is ABSOLUTE!
1.1 Switch application
E320 allows to handle two separate computer systems (computers or
computer networks) in one workplace (display, keyboard and mouse),
without any possibility of data exchange between these two systems. So one
of the systems can be connected to a dangerous area with an attack risk, the
second can operate with secret data. Both computers must be equipped with
DVI or HDMI video output.
2.0 Principles of Operation
A principle of the intelligent KVM switch E320 has been based on a patent
valid in European Union, USA and Russia.
Two output video signals from two computers have been merged into one
video output. On mouse click E320 can recognize to which system the
mouse and keyboard have to be switched on. A fix background color is
necessary for the correct function.
All the signal transfers between E320 and systems are strictlyunidirectional,
so there is not possibility to send any data from one computer to second one
through E320.
Due to the physical principles of the one-way data transfers
the security of E320 is ABSOLUTE!
2.1 HW requirements
Two computers with DVI or HDMI graphic outputs are necessary for E320
application. The computers must be equipped with USB interfaces too. A
display with DVI or HDMI connector, PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyboard are
necessary as well. E320 is able to merge the graphic outputs up to
1280 x 1024 pixels resolution.
