Information
When the windshield wipers are active, the rear
wiper performs a few wipes when reverse gear is
engaged.
The function can be activated or deactivated in the
PCM.

Press wiper lever forward (Fig. 226).
The system sprays and wipes as long as the
wiper lever is pressed forward.
When the lever is released, a few drying wipes
are performed.
Wiper blades
NOTICE
If the wiper arms accidentally fall back onto the
windshield, they can cause damage to the
windshield.
e
Always hold the wiper arms securely when re-
placing the windshield wipers.
NOTICE
The windshield wipers can freeze at low
temperatures.
e
Thaw and release frozen windshield wipers be-
fore driving.
NOTICE
The graphite coating on the windshield wipers can
be damaged if they are not cleaned properly.
e
Ensure that the cleaning jet does not strike the
windshield wipers.
e
Do not clean windshield wipers with a cloth or
sponge.
e
Clean windshield wipers with clear water only.
Replacing windshield wipers
The wiper blades should be replaced twice per
year (before and after the cold season) or if wiper
performance deteriorates or the wipers are
damaged.
NOTICE
If the windshield wipers are not changed properly,
they can come loose when the car is moving.
e
The windshield wipers must engage properly in
the wiper arm.
e
Check that the windshield wipers are seated
securely.

Ignition switched off.

Press the wiper lever downward once

).
The windshield wipers move upward through
approx. 45°.
2.
Change the wiper blades in accordance with
the separate installation instructions provided
by the manufacturer. Note the different lengths
of the wiper blades.
Retracting windshield wipers

Ignition is switched on.

Press the wiper lever downward for approx. 1

The windshield wipers return to their initial
position.

have this work carried out. Porsche recommends
an authorized Porsche dealer, as they have trained
technicians and the necessary parts and tools.
