Door Lock Operation

There are several ways to lock and

unlock your GTO. The doors cannot be

locked if the driver’s door is open. This

helps to prevent lockouts.

Inside the Vehicle

Door Lock Knob: Press the driver’s or

passenger’s door lock knob located at

the top of the door panel to lock the

doors. Pull up on either knob to unlock

the doors.

Power Door

Lock Button:

on the center console, both doors must

be closed.

• If both doors are unlocked, press the 

button to lock the doors.

• If both doors are locked, press the 

button to unlock the doors.

Outside the Vehicle

Lock the Doors: Press the Lock button

on the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter

to lock all doors, disable the engine and

set the content theft-deterrent alarm. If

the passenger’s door is open when the

Lock button is pressed, the passenger’s

door will NOT lock and the horn will

chirp several times to alert the driver.

Close the open door and reset the sys-

tem by pressing the Unlock button and

then the Lock button.

Unlock the Doors: Press the Unlock

button on the Remote Keyless Entry

transmitter to unlock the driver’s door.

Press the Unlock button again, or hold

down the button for more than one sec-

ond, to unlock all doors. (To set both

doors to unlock with a single press, see

Two Stage Unlock under Vehicle

Personalization.)

Lock/Unlock Confirmation: Your vehi-

cle will flash the exterior lights once to

confirm locking and twice to confirm

unlocking. If set under Vehicle

Personalization, the horn also will chirp.

Programmable Automatic Door Locks

(Automatic Transmission Only)

The automatic door locking feature will

lock the doors when the shift lever is

moved out of Park. This feature can be

turned on or off using the trip computer.

See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

• To adjust the steering wheel position, 

locate the adjustment lever under the 

steering column. Hold the steering 

wheel and rotate the lever down;

then move the steering wheel to the 

desired position (the wheel can be 

adjusted up/down and in/out). Rotate 

the lever back up to lock the steering 

wheel in place.

Note: If the doors are locked from the

outside using the key in the driver’s

door lock, the content theft-deterrent

alarm is not set. If the doors are

unlocked from the outside using the key

in the driver’s door lock, the alarm will

sound as soon as the door is opened 

(if the alarm was set). To turn off the

alarm, turn the key in the ignition to On

or press the Unlock button on the 

transmitter.
