SHIFT LEVER REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the seats.
2. Remove the fasteners securing the LH center
console panel.
3. Remove the fastener holding the shift cable to the
shift lever.
4. Remove the clip holding the shift lever to the
mounting bracket pivot.
5. Remove shift boot and then pull shift lever down
through opening in center console.
SHIFT CABLE INSPECTION
Shift cable adjustment may be necessary if symptoms
include:
• No gear position or incorrect gear position shown.
• AWD light displayed on instrument cluster
• Ratcheting noise on deceleration
• Inability to engage into a gear
• Excessive gear lash (noise)
• Gear selector moving out of desired range
Inspect shift cable, clevis pins, and pivot bushings and
replace if worn or damaged.

1. Locate the shift cable

2. Inspect shift cable

. Replace if worn or damaged.
