MAINTENANCE
Rear Gearcase Oil
Always check and change the rear gearcase oil at the intervals outlined
in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 48.
Rear Gearcase Oil Recommendations
Oil Check
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface. Place the transmission in
gear. Lock the parking brake.
2. Remove the check plug. View the
oil level. The oil level should be
at the bottom of the plug hole.
3. Remove the fill plug. Add the
recommended fluid as needed.
4. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
specification.
5. Reinstall the check plug. Torque
to specification.
Oil Change
1. Remove the skid plate.
2. Remove the drain plug. Drain the fluid into a drain pan.
3. Clean and reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer. Torque
to specification.
4. Remove the fill plug. Add 120 ml of the recommended fluid.
5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to specification.
6. Check for leaks.
7. Reinstall the skid plate. Discard used oil properly.
