7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Disconnect the appliance from the mains
before you clean or maintain it.
Take off all rings and bracelets before cleaning or maintaining the appliance;
otherwise you will damage the surface or the drum of the appliance.
Housing
Use a neutral, diluted detergent.
Do not use any harsh, abrasive and aggressive detergents.
Do not use any solvents.
Drum
Remove any rust, e.g. from metal-made objects in your laundry, immediately
with a chlorine-free detergent.
Never use wire wool.
"Frozen" appliance
If the ambient temperature is lower than 0
0
C and the appliance has been
frozen, proceed as described below:
1.
Disconnect the appliance from the mains.
2.
Wash the tap with warm water so you can take the inlet hose off.
3.
Take off the hose and immerse it in warm water.
4.
Pour warm water into the drum and wait approx. 10 minutes.
5.
Reconnect the inlet hose to the tap and check, that the water inlet and the
water drain works properly.
6.
When you operate the appliance again, the ambient temperature has to be
higher than 0
0
C.
Frost protection
If you have installed the appliance in a place, where the ambient temperature
can easily fall below 0
0
C, always empty the inlet and outlet hoses.
How to remove residual water in the inlet hose:
1.
Close the water tap.
2.
Remove the inlet hose from the tap and put the end into a container.
3.
Start a programme. Now the water is being drained for approx. 40 seconds.
4.
Connect the hose again.
Remove residual water in the drain pump.
